ImageL’entreprenariat social est un concept relativement nouveau et en pleine expansion, spécialement parmi des jeunes passionnés, créatifs et idéalistes qui veulent faire une différence dans le monde.  Faire avancer des causes sociales dans le respect des principes du développement durable en créant en même temps de la valeur économique pour l’entreprise et la société, c’est l’essence de ces start-up à la recherche d’un changement social positif.

Des changements cruciaux influencent les aspects sociaux, économiques, environnementaux et politiques des communautés culturelles dans le monde. Les impacts sont divers et varient selon les régions, cependant ils requièrent tous de nouvelles formes de leadership basées sur la recherche de solutions innovantes et durables à tous les niveaux de la société. Pour répondre à ces défis, nous avons besoin d’une nouvelle génération d’entrepreneurs innovants et de toutes régions et de tous secteurs travaillant en collaboration 

L’entreprenariat social est une approche unique et une solution effective pour un développement social positif et durable.

Qui sont ces entrepreneurs sociaux?

Il y a 6 ans il n’y avait qu’une dizaine d’histoires d’entrepreneurs sociaux. Maintenant on dépasse le 500. Mais de quelles histoires s’agit-t-il ? Essentiellement d’histoires dont ‘les héros’ sont des personnes dédiées qui utilisent leur compétences en gestion pour résoudre des problèmes sociaux ou environnementaux par des solutions novatrices et durables, à travers un changement systémique en détectant des lacunes sociales que ni les gouvernements, ni l’économie ont réussi ou voulu affronter. Voici quelques exemples :

www.deltalink.ch: Suisse. L’idée fondamentale de Delta Link à La Sarraz est simple : participer à un développement intelligent et durable de pays en développement ou en voie de reconstruction en réutilisant les équipements informatiques vite remplacés (et souvent détruits) dans nos pays industrialisés. DeltaLink se déploie sur deux fronts : en Suisse il organise le ramassage, l’identification, le tri, le reconditionnement,  le stockage, l’emballage et l’expédition de matériel informatique usagé, et dans les pays défavorisés (initialement en Afrique de l’Ouest) il met sur pied des partenariats avec de professionnels locaux pour la réhabilitation finale, la commercialisation à bas prix et la maintenance de ce matériel. Ce qui engendre de nouvelles compétences, donc des emplois, en relation avec l’ordinateur et son utilisation.

Barka a établi 20 communautés et offre actuellement un mode de vie plus digne pour 600 résidents. Environ 5'000 personnes par an reçoivent d'autres types d'assistance directe. Aujourd'hui, les activités de Barka se sont étendues à d'autres domaines au fur et à mesure que les besoins des communautés locales dans lesquelles Barka opère ont été identifiés. Cinquante personnes travaillent à plein temps pour des fonctions spécialisées comme l'enseignement et les formations techniques.  www.geecorps.org : USA. Ethan Zuckermann s’est donné pour mission de réduire la fracture numérique et d’aider les pays en développement à devenir numériquement indépendants. Le concept est simple, Ethan fait appel à des professionnels de l’IT – des « geeks »- pour qu’ils travaillent gracieusement en s’intégrant dans des missions dans les pays en développement, sous forme de courte pause dans leur carrière professionnelle. Geecorps travaille sur des grands projets aux Sénégal et au Mali et cherche toujours des volontaires.

Parrainages et cours en entreprenariat social

La première et plus importante organisation de recrutement et parrainage d’entrepreneurs sociaux au monde est Ashoka : cette organisation à but non lucratif née aux Etats-Unis il y a 25 ans est présente dans 50 pays.  Ensuite la Skoll Foundation, aussi basée aux Etats-Unis et la Fondation Schwab à Cologny en Suisse. Cette dernière organise aussi des cours sur l’entrepreneuriat social.
